WISHFUL THINKING – FEATURES ON 2014 FOREST HILLS DRIVE

One of the cool things about J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive is that there are no features. It’s not like J. Cole couldn’t get features or get Roc Nation to open the budgets and make it happen. It’s not a bad route going featureless on the project, it works. Now, it did make me think if it did have features, who would be on it? And what songs would they be on? I put short list of five songs I felt Cole could have picked up and called for some assistance.

G.O.M.D – BIG SEAN
For some reason Big Sean’s best verses are when he’s other people tracks, “G.O.M.D.” seems like a topic and a beat that would fit Sean and he would definitely drop a scene stealing verse with some witty wordplay and ad libs.

Nas-J.Cole_

LOVE YOURZ – NAS
Let’s be real this sounds like a Nas song anyway, so why not get him on this.

J. Cole NYC Concert After Party

03 ADOLESCENCE – KENDRICK LAMAR
Now Kendrick could honestly be on every song on this album but if I had to choose one for him to drop some bars it would have to be this. Simply it’s a nice slow beat taking a trip down memory lane so you wouldn’t have a “Control” situation.

NO ROLE MODELZ – LUPE FIASCO
Lupe is another guy who rolls at the beat of his drum and “No Role Modelz” fits Lupe’s brand of hip-hop. I could see Lupe dropping a rewind worthy verse on this song.

ST TROPEZ – ERYKAH BADU
When you listen to “St Tropez” there are some background vocals on during the chorus with J. Cole, I say remove Cole and have Erykah handle hook duties on St Tropez.
