TOP 10 THURSDAY: MY TOP 10 FAVORITE COMPLEX COVERS

Earlier the week I posted Complex Magazine 10th Anniversary issue covers featuring Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber. As a person that has collected Complex since it was made available in Canada.(The first 6 issues weren’t on sale here.) I thought they could have come with something better. It made me think if that’s not the best cover ever, what is? So I dug into my collection and looked at over 30 covers to narrow it down to my 10 favorite ones. Now because Complex has two covers per issue I decided to do two top ten lists one for all of guys that have been on the cover and one for the ladies. The list is in no order. I went based on the cover picture, the pairings and any special effects.

TOP TEN THURSDAY: MOVIES I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IN 2012 PART 1

1st Top 10 Thursday of the year and I’d thought I’d dedicate it too 10 movies I want to see this year, well the 1st half of the year. I couldn’t narrow the 10 down for the year yet so we’ll split this in two. Here are the 10 movies I can’t wait to see for the 1st half of 2012.

10 Red Tails January 20th
The George Lucas produced story about the legendary Tuskegee Airmen.

9 American Reunion – April 6th
The whole gang is back for this.

8 Hunger Games – March 23rd
Never read the books but the movie looks like it could be good.

7 The Dictator – May 11
Sacha Baron Cohen is at it again. This looks very funny.

6 John Carter – March 9
The classic story comes to life. Looks like it could be good fun.

TOP TEN THURSDAY: MY 10 FAVORITE DJ MENSA MIXTAPES

Before you come out tonight to see my friend DJ Mensa tear it up at Red Bull 3Style. I thought for this weeks Top Ten Thursday I’d get you familiarized with my favorite mixes from him. Most of these I’ve posted before in “Mixtape Round-Up”, some are older than the blog and you need to have in your collection. I didn’t put them in any order, to me they’re all great. These 10 mixes are the ones I play non stop. (I’m playing 2000 Til right now.) I think if you want to see the skill and versatility Mensa has, these 10 mixes in my opinion are the best display of one of Toronto’s best DJs.

TOP 10 THURSDAY: TOP 10 COMIC BOOK MOVIE TEASER TRAILERS

This week the film world eagerly waits for the release of the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight Returns. It will be our first look at one of the most anticipated movies of 2012. The trailer has leaked online but it’s crappy quality. I’ll wait till the official drops tomorrow.

In the meantime I decided to share my 10 favorite comic book movie teasers. The difference with a teaser and a full trailer is that teasers are generally shorter and don’t give much of the plot, they just show some real cool footage to get everyone excited. Some teasers are amazing especially ones that introduce us to new characters we haven’t seen or if it’s a sequel it plays on the events from the previous film. I decided to play have the number 1 at the top and you work your way down. Enjoy.

TOP TEN THURSDAY – MY TOP 10 FAVORITE MIXTAPES OF 2011 SO FAR

2011 has to be the year of the Mixtape or as my friend Wan Luv would call it the FreeP. These 10 mixtapes should be called albums. They are that good, I’ve had them all on constant repeat. Now these are MY favorites that means I can recite song lyrics and know every song inside and out. If you haven’t heard any of these I suggest you hit the download links and listen.
